More Delays, and BitTorrent

I don’t like to say this, because it’s happened to me so many times with so many projects in the past, and because I hate the implications, but - there have been further delays with the next release of ALICE.NET. Some of them are technical, like problems that cropped up when I tried to implement layer recoloring (and the subsequent reworking of the internal layer system).

However, some of them are personal: my mother was recently diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Her initial surgery went well, but she is still in chemotherapy and needs a lot of help. This has taken my time away from programming on any projects, so I can’t really say for sure when the “next release” I promised will be available. Just remember, patience is a virtue. *cough* n_n”

On another note, I’m also experimenting with BitTorrent distribution, to conserve bandwidth (my server is behind a residential connection). A torrent containing ALICE.NET 1.0 alpha and Ren’s Alice doll is available here. Please let me know if you experience any problems with it, and as with any torrent, please seed as long as possible.

Update: You can also download ALICE.NET from RenaiGames.net. Thanks, Rio!

I can mirror it at my site (renaigames.net) if it’s okay with you. My bandwidth use is hardly making a dent on what I’m given per month.

Sure, I don’t have any problem with that. The bandwidth issue isn’t a -major- concern, though, I’m just trying to be prepared. (For what, I’m not 100% certain. :)

Ok, cool. I’ll make a post on Monday (June 23rd). =)
